    I WOULD LOVE TO SEE INFERNO IN DM. Inferno is one of my favorite maps - office is obvioulsy my number one - but i agree that there are too many awp maps on dm. it's rare that non-awping is a smart choice. i love pool because i usually just use my deagle - got a godlike once - but most of the time the map gets switched. keep the favorites, keep the customs - a huge reason why i love n/u dm server - but definitely add some cal maps that are rifle friendly. helps out the cal team and lets others use rifles if they choose.

    I would really like to put some positive input here on your DM server. You guys do a great job and before you add any new maps, please check out what worked for us.

    Rotational maps, such as CAL maps, will be a server killer. It's weird that maps that you and I would agree to be great, turns out to be very unpopular. Does it help the CAL team? Yes, if it's not random respawn and has default spawn points. Having variations of the map, such as de_inferno_fog, has worked wonders! It isn't the traditional map, but it's close enough that you can still practice, but have no problem with it. I don't know why people are so picky, but the numbers don't lie.

    Awp maps are good once in awhile. We throw a few in there like hang-em-high. Our champion starting map is dm_crackhouse10. We throw a few random crackhouses like crackhouse night or tunnels just to mix it up.

    People really like fast attack and dying. Seriously. They like it when they have 10 people in a hallway battling it out such as de_fastlane(map name?). Maps with too much travel time turns people off. Maps with too little travel time is a turn off. It's like you have to find the "right ones". We've been fortunate. We try to test a new map every week. People get bored of the same rotation so having them vote is key.

    We took a few of your maps and put them on rotation to find that there are a few that Ns regulars love. GG and FY maps are good too with small #s.

    Spawning at team locations is key. Having a 3-4 second spawn protection is crucial so there are no major attacks. I think you guys have a 1 second protection? I remember playing a map and having random respawns. I honestly wasn't use to it, so I couldn't give u a non-biased opinion.

    I hope this helps a little. This is what helps us in choosing our maps and has worked well as our server #s support it.

    We don't do team spawns. We do random with no protection, and I personally would hate a team-spawn with protection setup...

    i agree with natalya; team spawn with protection really takes the fun out of dm. it should be completely random where you can pop up among three members of the opposite team or by a couple of your own or whatever. personal favorite = having someone spawn inside you.

    The reason i first joined NU? Deathmatch. =P

    Deathmatch was all i used to play (burned out on everything else). I love the random respawn. When i feel like a change, i'll hit up NS's DM, but that's more for friends over there then anything else. ^_^

    I'm not saying CAL maps are the future of DM, or that it will help our CAL team greatly. Just maybe try some out, to appease some of the masses. If it sticks and ppl like it, awesome. If not, then there will always be others. O and i do love the variation of inferno.

    Fixed spawn? No thanks. Spawn protection is fine for a fixed spawn DM, but random spawn w/spawn protection is shit. Nothing more infuriating then having some n00b spawn right in front of you and you can't do anything about it... boils my blood. =P

    dm_inferno and dm_natalyas_bloodbath are now on the server along with dm_battlecreek_v3. Removed that desert eagle map and the Mario scoutzknives. (Original is still there.)
